"Life is like photography, we develop from the negatives"

That quote is so true, and I believe one of the main reason's I love it so much. It is a journey, as life is. Always learning, evolving, changing. Isn't it great! Well the past few weeks. I've been pretty busy with the cutest kid contest going on facebook and a beautiful engagement session at Savannah rapids. Planning for an upcoming wedding, advertising, and trying to still keep normal life going. What a rush.. I don't think I ever get a break. Right now, it's 4 in the morning and here I am blogging on what's going on in the Photography world because I haven't had a chance any  other time :) Regardless, I love it and wouldn't have it any other way. Here are a couple images from my engagement session. We had great light and the love and excitement of their upcoming nuptials definitely came through! How amazing is love??

2 year olds and sand in our toes amounts to a great weekend!!!

Monday already?  I've had so much fun this weekend. I cant wait to start editing so I can put a few photo's up here for you to see! Saturday I had a good friend's daughter's 2nd birthday party. How fun was that! Hot dogs and cake and lots of smiles! It really was great! It was also very hot! So Sunday I took my clan to the lake for some swimmin' and Sunday relaxin'. We had a blast and of course I got some pretty cool pictures as well. I really have decided that I am falling in love with Georgia... Maybe I was a southern girl all along :)  I guess only time will tell.... until next time!

Memorable Moments

I don't think I will ever tire of meeting new people and getting to share such a special moment in each of their lives. A moment guaranteed to be remembered forever... and it will forever be showcased on their walls. I guess every profession in the world holds something worth remembering, but for me, being able to give families precious memories is the best in the world. It's one I hope to be doing forever. This weekend I was able to meet baby Daniel. How precious was he!!! All smiles! And on top of it all his mommy was able to see him roll over for the very first time!!! Moments like that are made to be captured! Meet baby Danny :)

A breath of fresh air

Nothing is quite as refreshing as a brand new little baby;  to remind you how precious the world can be. Life truly is an amazing thing. I had the pleasure of meeting little maggie a couple weekends ago and share some of my favorite images from our session. Its nice to be able to take a deep breath sometimes and be thankful for all god has given us.... Welcome to the world little Maggie Turner....

I may not be The best.. but Im always learning!

Photography is my life! That may sound cliche, but it really is true.. You know you are photo crazy when you dream about editing and new idea's for portraits. Silly maybe but Its me and I wouldnt have it any other way. I know I may not be the best but everyday my skills get a little bit better and every time I pick up that camera : My passion reaffirmed. One thing I can say is I love children and I have never had a session without showing that child's personality. And somehow even with the kid that hates having their picture done. I always manage to get a smile for mommy and daddy to hang on their walls. Thats what I do. I give people memories. Its the best job in the whole world... atleast to me :)

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting the Campbell family! They had such a beautiful family and needed family pictures before moving across the ocean :)
Here are some of their photo's and I hope you have fun on your journey to your new home :)

Go Shoot something!!!

On days like today, where the kids are busy playing, the house is clean and the hubs is at work. I always begin to feel restless!! I dont know what it is... maybe just the simple fact that I am an over analyzer and always have been. I feel I want to do more and more and more.. lol But maybe Ive hit a plateau and just need to change career paths... When I get in these moods ( I guess you could say moods) Something in the back of my mind tells me to pick up my camera and go shoot something... anything!!! And when I do and I am pleased with the outcome it reaffirms my passion... I need that today. I need to get out there and shoot something~!! Because thats what I do... Im a photographer!!!

Happy Mother's day to all those wonderful moms out there!!!

Man, what a great holiday to celebrate. Mother's day!!! Can you Imagine a world without Mommy's? I most definitely cant!!! Mom's are the ones who help mold who we become. What a job! They help create the future. I dont know how I would of survived without my Mom growing up. I probably would of ended up even crazier than I already am. I hope one day my own children are as grateful as I am for the sacrifices made so they can grow up to be healthy, stable adults. In my job I get to meet fantastic Mom's all of the time and it really makes me feel blessed to be able to give these women something to hold onto their babies forever. We all know they grow up way to fast. My Mother's day was awesome! The hubby let me take a 3 hour nap and took the kids to the park! Who woulda thought the gift of sleep would of been the best gift ever? I know when I was a kid I dreaded naps, now I cherish them. The little things are what means the most. So today, I am celebrating all the mom's I come in contact with every day! Thank you mom's I hope your mother's day was as awesome as mine..

Boys!!!!!

Well this past weekend really tested my skills. I had 2 sessions with all boys. Boys are so fun! I think i burned 5000 calories during the 2 hours i was shooting :) So full of energy! But Both families were beautiful, I was so blessed to be able to give those families memories that wouldnt soon  fade. And at the end of the day that is reason I do what I do! Children arent predictable and you still have to be able to capture every smile, frown, emotion and keep it fun all the same time.. Quite a responsibility I carry on my shoulder's. I hope I meet all of their expectations and more :) Here is my favorite photo of the first session of the day. I will add my favorites of the second when I finish editing them.

Getting ready for another exciting weekend!

Well easter portraits the past few weekends have been a huge success! I am soo excited and blessed to have been getting so many new families wanting portraits! I even have a couple model shoots comin up in the Next 2 weeks! Tomorrow's 2 sessions will be in my home studio, I don't know why I get so nervous doing studio sessions. Probably because everything has to be a certain way ( lighting, props, backdrops, everything) and if you don't have it all just right your whole session is no good. Location shoots are easier haha atleast for me. But this year is about growing as a photographer and really mastering
Y skills. I've definitely been given the chance, now it's time to "strut my stuff". Here we go.... There's no time like right now!!!!! I'll have previews from these sessions coming tomorrow or Sunday! Hopefully the families enjoy their photos just as much as I will have taking them :) we shall see!!!! Until next time

Here we go... Easter and 365

My 365 project (check out more on my facebook page)

~My Babies Easter Pictures~
So exciting! I got to go to Riverwalk on Friday afternoon and it was so beautiful. I took easter portraits of my babies and I cant wait to get back out there for some more sessions. Also in the last week I have officially started my 365 project. Im hoping it helps me to continue to improve and expand my photography... In a field like this, you have to stay ahead of the game. Thats exactly what I want to do.
